Aintree, Ascot and Cheltenham are all synonymous with horse racing. Aintree for the John Smith's Grand National, Ascot for Royalty and hats and Cheltenham course for The Gold Cup and Ladies Day. The one thing they all have in common is the rush you feel when your chosen horse romps past the finishing post.
There have been many famous race horses that have graced the race courses and our televisions but none more so than Desert Orchid who's greatest achievement was his victory in 1989 in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Who could forget Red Rum the three times winner of The Grand National who was laid to rest near the finishing post at Aintree, a fitting tribute to an astonishing race horse.
The horses running races today could just as easily become famous in their own right at any one of the many race courses across the country including York, Market Rasen, Newmarket, Doncaster, Goodwood, Catterick and Newbury. There is a real passion for horse racing in this country and many of us regularly attend. If you are such a person, we would appreciate hearing about your experiences, whether it's about a course you frequent or a horse you think could well enter the racing horse hall of fame.
